Dubstep? Nah.

I like the progression here. Pretty soothing.

Unfortunately... the main part doesn't really sound dubstep-y. The bass synth is just a bass synth continuously playing. I thought dubstep was full of wobble basses, action and interesting synths.
I think remove the bass, and this song would turn into a pretty good ambient song. It's not particularly dubstep anyway.

Im not good at dubstep thats all...
This is part of my exercise for dubstep.. lol

Great!

I like the beginning, the pads in the chord progression do sound calm and peaceful. The only hint that it was a dubstep song was the harsh drum beats. Really trance-style, seems to have a good breakdown. Maybe you should remake this into a trance song.

Fluttershy seems to be saying "ee... hash-brow-brow-brown 'oh weekend". XD

The wubz were great! The kind that gives eargasms. The rhythm was good, but maybe a bit slow times, and the sound effects added were genius! Those wubs sound plain crazy.

I really do wish there was some link between the wubs and the pad/strings part. Maybe the base note for the wobble bass could match that of the chord progression? I don't know... Fading out the pads seem like a good idea too.

In mixing terms, I'd say the kick drum doesn't have enough 'oomph' in it. Needs more layering (and moar cowbell!) And the strings sound like they have too much mids, which can be cut. Can't say much anyway, I don't make dubstep myself.

In summary, fantastic! Do make more of this, my music player can do more of your songs. :D

Spectacular!

Although I never actually watched MLP (only the pilot double-episode), I seriously like this piece.

Never heard the original, but the melodies are somehow really suiting for DnB, judging by the fact that this song originated from a cartoon, which wouldn't really make DnB songs.

I love the drum breaks, they just help the song transition very well. Instrumentation of the drum beats were excellent, I could really tell you put a lot of effort into these drums. Really something to appreciate though.

There is a really big contrast between the harsh bass and soft piano sounds; such contrast works really well together, and complement each other well. I also really love the synths, and string sounds. It's like a battle between harsh and soft, strong and weak. This gives this song a neat edge and strong structure.

Only slight problems I can see are that the drums have too much presence, they seem to overpower the song. But since this is DnB, I can forgive you for that, but I'd still prefer the volume to be lower, so the main phasered lead synth and piano can be heard through.

Really nice, epic song. This is definitely going on to the top five, seeing that it has almost 90 votes and a really high score. Let's see if the zero bombers able to pull this one down then!

And congratulations on getting this song featured on Equestria Daily! It definitely deserves its place there.

Omnivore responds:

I still can't believe that happened, and thanks! The REAL credit here goes to Coleknows for he was the one sent the link to EQ!

Yep.

Yep, neat melody. Waiting for the final version... It's really bouncy, and has a nice feel to it.

I think the guy below means, the song is madness. There's no song called 'madness', he just means the song rocks. o_o

Omnivore responds:

It's funny, because his accounts keep getting deleted.. (I don't see him now :/)..

Mouth open in amazement.

This... is... so beautiful!

Can't believe you make this kind of stuff! Very beat-y, I just want to get up and dance. Yet, sounds a lot like Trance. Just plain awesome.

Every instrument seems to link very well. All those different synths playing the same melody, just adds to the coherence of the whole song, and the different moods each gives allows the song to progress really well.

I also really love the little things you've added in, like sound FX and drums in the background. It's the little things that add up to make a song great, and you've done a great job!

I think this song is too short, and seeing that you're not done with it, I'd say expand it. Go follow it with an epic breakdown, with nearly silent pads, slowly bringing up the energy of the song again. Maybe a different, contrasting melody will help a lot.

Definitely one of my favourites on this site, I'm definitely going to download this (and look for an update for the final version)

Thanks, im working on it ^_^

Nice!

Such a great song, does sound happy and uplifting.

The saw plucks were great, the way they changed in character throughout the whole song with the filter is good. The beats never failed to give this song a very bouncy feel, keeping a beat to this song. And the melodies were nice, probably one of the best I've heard.

Only thing I'd probably frown upon is the use of a very common chord progression, and building the song up by that progression is just too cliche. Not saying that progression should be avoided, but maybe even some variation from that progression would be nice.

Overall, really good job here. This song rocks!

Thanks for the review TeHLoY :D

Not bad...

Hmm... this song does have a great calming effect. The fluttery piano high notes, and strings sound great together.

I realy like the strings. Simple, yet subtle.

Honestly, I think this song needs more low end. The supporting piano notes should play lower notes on the keyboard, and perhaps play a couple of neat chords. And maybe this piano does sound cheesy...

But this song sounds neat. I've never heard the original, so I can't really compare anyway. Good job!

GamekrazzyProduction responds:

I actually tried having a lower octave for the lower part on this, but for some reason the lower notes as a midi don't go well with the higher notes, so I kept the parts apart by an octave. But you are right, I mean on the piano here at my house it sounds nice with a real bass like bottom to keep the song supported, but as a midi not really. Thanks for the review. I am glad you liked the song. :P

Good effort

I can see you (or you two, as I can judge from your profile posts) are pretty serious in music production.

I'll try to make this review (or tips, to be more accurate) constructive, to help you (two) improve.

Firstly, try to research on the genre of music you're making. You've labelled this as trance, (and even misspelled it to tarnce), but I can't find any trance elements in this song. The key things to trance music is a '4 on the floor kick', or a kick drum every beat. It is meant to be progressive, as the song gains and loses energy as it progresses.

Also, learn music theory. Even the most basic parts do help, like scales and chords, chord progressions and stuff. A simple chord progression can really dramatically improve the quality of your song, I'm not lying. When making an instrument follow a certain scale (let's say a F major scale), all other instruments should follow the same scale.(which is F major)

You also have to be a bit conservative about what instruments you put into your song. I find the pads a bit too harsh to the ears, and the drums were a bit random-ish. A tip is to listen to commercial (or popular songs) and take note of how they make songs. Go study how drum loops are done, what instruments they use and such.

I'm not trying to insult you or anything, but do take these tips seriously, and you will definitely improve in music making skills.

rasteexXxuss responds:

Well the thing is... we're trying to revolutionize music into a state of being for us. It's what we call Psychedelic Trance. We try to incorporate the state of madness into equality to screw with people's minds, and few people like it. But that's what makes more people like it. The fact that even if one person likes it, more people will wonder why. PlaxXxebuss likes to use her screaming guitar-like harmonics in it with her pads and soft piano stutts to make people wonder. It adds mysterious ticks in people's minds like you sort of wondered why it was like that. >:)

Hmm...

I like this song, sounds heavenly? Maybe it's just the pads. I don't know.

I think it's the instruments here that are unique, the synths, though weird sounding, actually complement this song.

And the progression sounds great too. You seem to stay away from cheesy progressions. It's a good thing, for I've heard the same progressions in a million songs on the radio. This was definitely a break from those dreaded progressions.

Another great song, it's superb!

Omnivore responds:

Haha, yeah. The same Progression is catchy, but it gets old too quickly. I consider my music to be it's own sub-genre of Trance, but I don't know what to name it :S

Just awesome.

I'm bored, so I'll give my full review.

Melody/Rhythm: Really cool, I just love the catchy melodies you put in there. You've created a really neat beat from the very beginning, and it just kept on going, failing to cease until the song finally stopped.

Progression: Great, the chord progression was pretty unique, it did complement the melody well. The overall song did fare pretty well, the breakdowns and buildups were good. I really liked the high-pass filters you put at random points of the song.

Instruments: Classic trance leads? Of course! Only thing was that too many instruments were playing together at some point, it sort of confused me. Maybe something a bit more minimalist, each instrument seems to fight for attention.

Mixing: Only part I'd say average. Many instruments failed to make a mark, like the kick drum which I could barely hear thumping. I think too many instruments were filling up the bass area, and some are just too harsh. I think you should try EQing your stuff a bit more next time.

Overall: Just a great song. I think you excel at making great melodies. You're probably an artist I'll keep an eye on next time, your music is awesome! I'll be checking out your future stuff too.

Omnivore responds:

Thanks! Appreciate the great review! I'll definately work on the EQ for my next song :3
